MAY Book of the Month “The Four Winds” by Kristin Hannah This story is set in the dust bowl of the 1930’s American Great Depression. April Book of the Month
“The Other Bennet Sister” by Janice Hadlow
The story was about Mary the “Unattractive” Bennet sister in “Pride & Predjudice” and how her own life evolved.
Everyone throughly enjoyed the book, there was even a comment that the book could have been written by Jane Austin herself!“As I walked out one midsummer morning” by Laurie Lee
Everyone enjoyed this book from the flow of the writing to the distinctive characters.
March Book of the Month
‘“Dangerous Crossing” by Rachel Rhys
£10 Pom passengers on route to Australia and New Zealand learn of the outbreak of the Second World War..This was based on an actual voyage, with well drawn characters from different backgrounds.
